Her Story

Twenty-Five Years In The Making

A psychologist, a Random House author, a shamanic practitioner, and the woman who lived what she teaches.

Thirty Years, One Throughline

The Psychologist And The Shamanic Practitioner

Dr. Susan Allison holds a PhD in Transpersonal Psychology and is a licensed Process Therapist. She is also an ordained minister and energy healer, trained in shamanic practice.

That combination is unusual on purpose. The clinical training makes the work rigorous, not just inspirational. The shamanic practice reaches the parts of a person that logic alone does not.

Thirty years, three careers, one throughline: helping people find their way back to who they actually are, underneath who they became to survive.

“They had to come up with a safe self in order to survive childhood,” she says. Most people never stop living inside that safe self. Her work is teaching them how.

Ahead Of Its Time

The Marriage, The Book, And The Refusal To Shrink

In 2001, Dr. Susan left her own marriage and wrote the book about it: that a divorce could be handled with integrity instead of war.

The publishing world was not sure what to make of it. Random House took a chance anyway, with a $50,000 advance.

Twenty-five years later, the culture is finally catching up to what she was describing.

Woman Doing Ballet 1

It is relaunching now as Badass Divorce, sharper and more honest about what the work actually asks of a woman.

The framework underneath it never changed: get honest first, root included, then grow into who you are becoming.

Where To Find Her Now

The Music, The Show, And What Comes Next

Beyond the books, Dr. Susan also writes music. “We Carry the Light” is one of forty songs written from the same throughline as her clinical work.

She takes all of it public every week on her show, where she talks through exactly this kind of beginning with her audience directly.

Twenty-five years in, none of it has softened. If anything, it got sharper.

That is Badass Divorce: not an ending handled quietly, but one handled on your own terms.

Thanks for being here.
